About the Fassl Lab
Aberrant cell cycle activity is a defining feature of cancer. Therapies that inhibit cell cycle activators and thus uncontrolled cell division are promising approaches for cancer treatment. The Fassl lab investigates the mechanisms of cell cycle deregulation in prostate and breast cancer at the genetic, genomic and proteomic level with the goal to understand how tumor evolution, therapy resistance and cancer plasticity circumvent growth control, what vulnerabilities arise from this pathologic activation and how to exploit them for specific targeting of cancer cells.
