DKTK School of Oncology

The DKTK School of Oncology of the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) is a network for young scientists in clinically oriented cancer research at the DKTK sites across Germany. Researching physicians (Clinician Scientists) and postdocs in the Natural Sciences working in basic research, translational research and clinical research organize themselves in the School of Oncology to work together on projects or to connect with other researchers.

The DKTK School of Oncology pursues the goal of supporting the young researchers in establishing their own network at an early stage and of integrating them closely into current and innovative research projects within the DKTK.

The DKTK School of Oncology supports its fellows with a special training program in order to foster their careers in the interdisciplinary field of translational cancer research. In addition, several events provide opportunities for national and international exchange. These include, for example, the annual Young Academics Conference and participation in the international Cancer Core Europe Summer School in Portugal. The DKTK School of Oncology may also support individual congress trips and research stays abroad with travel grants.
